Nature Photography Day

Updated: Jun 21, 2022

Nature is full of so much beauty and wonder, providing some stunning vistas. It is important we embrace it as much as possible. This is why the North American Nature Photography Association (NANPA) has set June 15 as a day to appreciate nature with Nature Photography Day. Starting in 2006 the day was conceived to promote the enjoyment of nature photography, and how images can be used to advance the cause of conservation and protect plants, wildlife, and landscapes.

Nature photography can provide countless possibilities, ranging from standard photography to macro photography to capture all the smallest details of the natural world. Some examples could be a sun setting over a landscape, waterfalls wildlife, plants, and close-ups of insects and textures.

“If you truly love nature, you will find beauty everywhere.”

- Laura Ingalls Wilder

On June 15 you don't need to travel to exotic places or own the most expensive equipment to capture nature. Simply take a walk around your neighbourhood capturing beautiful nature on your phone. Get out there and enjoy nature's bounties.
